I believe that there will be ultimately be a clash between the oppressed and those who do the oppressing. I believe that there will be a clash between those who want freedom, justice and equality for everyone and those who want to continue the system of exploitation. I believe that there will be that kind of clash, but I don’t think it will be based on the color of the skin.

I look forward to the day that I’ll hear Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overature when the people of the United States are finally free.

I just hope it’ll be in my lifetime.

Each time I strongly criticize Barack Obama a few of my readers ask to unsubscribe. I’m really sorry to lose them but it’s important that those on the left rid themselves of their attachment to the Democratic Party. I’m not certain how best to institute revolutionary change in the United States, but I do know that it will not happen through the Democratic Party, and the sooner those on the left cut their umbilical cord to the Democrats, the sooner we can start to get more serious about this thing called revolution.

William Blum (via humanformat)

Yea, actually. The system we have is fucked entirely and it HAS been fucked entirely OH I DON’T KNOW SINCE IT STARTED so why people think it can be reformed makes noooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO sense.

Yeah. People you know are going to die. You probably KNOW people who already have died at the expense of American capitalism.

Tough shit. Honestly. Every single American reading this right now was born and raised in a trap, that or you walked into it.

“If we know better then we probably deserve it.”

I amend that statement to “IF WE KNOW BETTER THEN WE DEFINITELY DESERVE IT.”

I believe that karma is real. And karma is REALLY coming for Americans whether or not they’re ready for it.

I’ll give you a hint: NO ONE IS READY FOR IT.

Our form of government is designed to fail. It doesn’t matter if the president of the US is Albus Dumbledore himself, still nothing will get done because that’s how it’s designed.
Anyone thinking that our government works is just delusional.
De. Lu. Sional.
I have to keep reminding myself that this is only the beginning and that I probably won’t even be alive to see the real revolution obtained.
So unfortunately, darlings, we’re going to have to endure a few more years of this Lying Politician Club horse shit.

At this point in history, there are no good short-term outcomes for global human society. Some are better and some are worse, and in the long term some are very good, but in the short term we’re in a bind. I’m not going to lie to you—the hour is too late for cheermongering. The only way to find the best outcome is to confront our dire situation head on, and not to be diverted by false hopes.
Human society—because of civilization, specifically—has painted itself into a corner. As a species we’re dependent on the draw down of finite supplies of oil, soil, and water. Industrial agriculture (and annual grain agriculture before that) has put us into a vicious pattern of population growth and overshoot. We long ago exceeded carrying capacity, and the workings of civilization are destroying that carrying capacity by the second. This is largely the fault of those in power, the wealthiest, the states and corporations. But the consequences—and the responsibility for dealing with it—fall to the rest of us, including nonhumans.
Physically, it’s not too late for a crash program to limit births to reduce the population, cut fossil fuel consumption to nil, replace agricultural monocrops with perennial polycultures, end overfishing, and cease industrial encroachment on (or destruction of) remaining wild areas. There’s no physical reason we couldn’t start all of these things tomorrow, stop global warming in its tracks, reverse overshoot, reverse erosion, reverse aquifer drawdown, and bring back all the species and biomes currently on the brink. There’s no physical reason we couldn’t get together and act like adults and fix these problems, in the sense that it isn’t against the laws of physics.
But socially and politically, we know this is a pipe dream. There are material systems of power that make this impossible as long as those systems are still intact. Those in power get too much money and privilege from destroying the planet. We aren’t going to save the planet—or our own future as a species—without a fight.
What’s realistic? What options are actually available to us, and what are the consequences? What follows are three broad and illustrative scenarios: one in which there is no substantive or decisive resistance, one in which there is limited resistance and a relatively prolonged collapse, and one in which all-out resistance leads to the immediate collapse of civilization and global industrial infrastructure.

Do people understand yet…

…that the only way we’re going to get anything done in this country is if we revolt against the government and tear it apart piece by piece?

It’ll be violent. A lot of people are going to die, let’s not act like that isn’t going to happen, but won’t it be worth it to die fighting for something the world needs?

I support the Occupy Movement. I haven’t the slightest idea what will come of it, but I know that the only fucking way Corporations are going to stop being recognized as people and Monsanto is going to stop poisoning food and news networks are going to report accurate and actual news is by means of a revolution.

The sooner the better in my opinion. I know it’s the scariest thing in the world BUT HERE LET ME QUOTE HARRY POTTER (Spoilers below, look away if you’re silly enough STILL not to have read HP):

“But he understood at last what Dumbledore had been trying to tell him. It was, he thought, the difference between being dragged into the arena to face a battle to the death and walking into the arena with your head held high. Some people, perhaps, would say that there was little to choose between the two ways, but Dumbledore knew—and so do I, thought Harry, with a rush of fierce pride, and so did my parents—that there was all the difference in the world.”

-Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, p. 512 (American version)

By not revolting, we are being dragged in the arena.

I answer common questions people have about the Occupy Movement.

I’ve noticed a lot of peeps all over Tumblr saying a range of many different things about the Occupy Movement, some of which are totally justified and true, others are completely fucking bonkers and have no idea of what’s going on and don’t care to learn. That being said, I’m going to answer some common q’s I’m sure many people have about the Occupy Movement.

WHY ARE PEOPLE PROTESTING WHAT ARE THEY PROTESTING?!!?!?

This one really isn’t hard if you just watch “Keith Olbermann Reads The Statement Released by Wall Street Protesters 2011-10-05,” but I’ll tell you anyway. I could go into details here about how much wealth the 1% controls, but it’s not just about that. IT’S NOT! DON’T ACT LIKE IT IS! Everyone with a brain knows that the US sucks right now. Everyone. Many of the people who are at all Occupy movements know that it sucks such a huge amount that there is no amount of work they, their children, their grand children, and their great grand children can do to collectively to fix it. People have just now realized that our system and country is broken and irreparable and they’re upset about it. That, to me, is the basic reason for all Occupy movements.

WELL WHAT DO THE PROTESTERS WANT TO BE DONE, THEN?!?!?! WHAT’S THE SOLUTION???!?!?

The problem is that there IS no solution!!! Do the Wall St Occupiers REALLY think that everyone who works on Wall St is just going to come out of their offices one morning and say “Oh, I’m so sorry for taking all the money and using it to buy my six houses and diamond encrusted money clip! Here, everyone have a share of my money and we’ll all go home happy!” No. Maybe they’re hoping that that’ll happen, but it won’t. Are corporations just going to stop what they’re doing because we asked nicely? No. Is the government going to stop being corrupt because some people are camping out in public? No. Which leads us to the next question and or observation I’ve been hearing many a time.

THIS IS THE REVOLUTION!!!! IS THIS THE REVOLUTION?!?!??

Unfortunately I don’t think it is. I mean, it COULD be, read the quote I included in my last wordy post by Chris Hedges. Revolutions take a fucking minute. And by a fucking minute I mean decades. DECADES, do you understand me? If it took us THIS long to start camping out and Occupying places, how long is it going to take to overthrow the US government??? A long time, right?! A long time. BUT, you can’t have a middle and end without a motherfucking beginning, right?

Right! This is only the beginning, and beginnings are VERY important!

WELL LYKE WHEN R THINGZ GONNA CHANGE THEN?!?!?!?!?

This answer is the one a lot of people do not want to hear, but it’s true. Things are only going to change once a LOT of people die in order to overthrow the government. Think about it. How strong is our military? How strong is our government? Is the Occupy Movement going to be responsible for OVERTHROWING THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT? No. It is going to take many, many years to overthrow our government and it’s going to take even longer for our country to be at a point of anything that remotely resembles solidarity. Unfortunately you and I probably won’t be alive to see the real revolution happen. I know it sucks to hear but I’m just being real here.

Really soon we’re going to be almost completely out of natural resources. ONLY THEN will EVERYONE stand up and say “Hey! We want to live!” Because that’s what it’s going to take for most Americans. I wish it didn’t have to be at that point. I wish they’d react sooner. And maybe they will, who knows? But that’s where I’m at now, that’s where we’re all at now, and things are going to change for better and for worse.

CHAOS IS THE BEST HOPE WE HAVE. TRUST IT.

I know not very many people read my pieces on here. I wish they did, but they don’t. There are probably under 20 people who will read this. I just wish it was more so more people could identify with me and agree with me and maybe feel comforted from what I’m about to write.

If you’re reading this, I really appreciate it. Seriously. May my love for any reader reading this right now be felt through every computer, iPhone, iPad, and SmartPhone screen.

The point of the next few paragraphs you may or may not read is this: I am genuinely scared for the future. I’m scared for my future, sure, my parents cut me off this week, I have to find a job real soon in order to pay rent, I have to go to school et cetera but that’s not even what I’m really scared of. I’m really scared of what the future will bring for the United States.

I consider myself a logical and down-to-earth human being. Spock is my idol. I try to see the reason within every situation. I’m so scared for the future because of one thing I know about it: It can’t possibly be bright. I don’t mean bright as in full of light or sunny, I mean bright as in optimistic or prosperous.

The future is fucked. Which means we are all fucked. Which means pretty soon, the shit is going to hit the fan. Hard.

The US government WILL be overthrown. There isn’t a shadow of a doubt about it. Once it is defunct, what’s going to happen to me? What’s going to happen to my family and all my friends? What’s going to happen to YOU and your family and all your friends? Will they survive?

Time is undeniably terrifying and comforting at the same time.

“I was sitting in a room in Leipzig on the afternoon of November 9, 1989 with the leaders of the east German opposition and they were saying that perhaps within a year there would be free passage back and forth and within a few hours, the wall didn’t exist.” — Chris Hedges

I’ve made a plan with my brother of where we’re going to meet up if we ever have to walk across the country to find each other. You should do that with your family or friends too, just in case.

People understand that shit does always hit the fan, but they can NEVER predict the end result of that shit hitting that particular fan.

Shit is starting to hit the fan here in the US. The shit has not yet made physical contact with the fan in question, but everyone knows—whether they admit it or not—that it’s going to happen.

Maybe it will happen next year. Maybe it will happen next decade. Maybe, though, it’ll happen any second.

Once the government is overthrown there is going to be total chaos. Really. Everything you’ve known all your life will change, probably overnight, and everyone will be out for themselves.

I implore you all to educate yourselves. Make plans with your family members as to where you’re going to meet and what you’re going to do after the downfall of the US government. You may think I’m crazy, and maybe I am, but I’m right, Goddammit.

Our government getting overthrown may seem grim, but why do governments get overthrown to begin with? They get overthrown because they don’t work for everyone, and if they don’t work for everyone, then they don’t work at all. When our government gets ousted, it will be to make a better future for our children and for the Earth.

Chaos is the best hope we have. Trust it.
