In all seriousness, y’all, Los Angeles gets fucking gross. I guess it wouldn’t if you were living in a nice area, but no, even if you were living in a nice area, it gets old.
Pretty quickly people realize how blood-sucking this town is. It doesn’t want you to smile like you mean it. It doesn’t care whether or not you’re successful. And it sure as shit enjoys keeping its poor people poor and its rich people rich.
There’s a level of artificiality people can stand. I guess I’ve got a pretty high tolerance for artificiality, considering I’ve lived in the Greater Los Angeles Area for a year and a half.
Here’s the thing about LA: Everything you’ve heard about it is true but everything you’ve heard about it is fake. A motherfucking paradox, a riddle, a trick played by the trickster and the victim.
Do you know why wealthy people have vacation houses? So they can get the fuck away from their reality and pretend they’re someone else with a simpler life and fewer problems. That’s why.
